# KP-index en geomagnetische stormen

> De planetaire KP-index, actueel en verwacht, met een limiet die je zelf kiest: hoge waarden verstoren de gps-nauwkeurigheid en het kompas van je drone.

De **KP-index** meet de geomagnetische activiteit van de aarde op een schaal van 0 tot 9. Tijdens geomagnetische stormen worden gps-posities minder nauwkeurig en kompasmetingen minder betrouwbaar: de drone kan wegdrijven tijdens het hoveren of om een kompaskalibratie vragen.

Drone Weather Forecast toont de **actuele en verwachte KP** van GFZ Potsdam en vergelijkt die met het maximum dat je instelt. Gaat de KP daaroverheen, dan waarschuwt het advies je.
