How to get authorization to fly in a restricted zone

Steps and links from official sources, checked in September 2026. Rules change: confirm on the official website (ANAC) before you fly.

  1. Check the AIP for prohibited, restricted and dangerous areas and control zones (CTR), where open-category flights are not allowed. Official page
  2. To fly in controlled airspace, or above 43 m within 5 km of a runway threshold, request authorisation from EANA (or the aerodrome manager where there is no air traffic service). Official page
  3. Open an operational file with EANA first, then send the signed request to the FIR office at least 7 business days ahead. EANA grants it only for commercial, scientific or security activities approved by ANAC. Official page
  4. Flying a DJI drone? With the authorization in hand, request an unlock on DJI FlySafe. DJI's unlock does not replace the authority's permission.

Check zones and weather before you fly

The Drone Weather Forecast app shows these zones on a map with DJI's colours, next to the hourly wind, gusts, rain, KP index and satellites for your drone model.

No. DJI's GEO zones are a safety layer built into DJI drones. The binding zones and rules are the ones published by the aviation authority, Administración Nacional de Aviación Civil.
