This Privacy Policy describes how Renan Rafael Bertoldo ("we", "us", or "the developer") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the mobile application Drone Weather Forecast (package identifier xyz.droneweather.app), the website droneweatherforecast.app (previously droen-weather.web.app), and related services (collectively, the "Service").

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with the terms, please do not use the Service.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

  • Account information. When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name, email address, and a unique account identifier from the chosen provider. Sign-in is optional for most features but required to post in the community forum and to purchase or restore the Pro upgrade.
  • User-generated content. Posts, comments, and replies you publish in the forum, together with the display name associated with your account.
  • Support communications. Messages you send to us by email.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Location data. With your permission, the app uses your device's GPS to provide weather forecasts for your current position. You may also enter a location manually; in that case no GPS data is collected. Location data is processed in real time to query weather providers and is not stored on our servers.
  • Device motion and orientation. Used locally on your device to power the compass feature. This data never leaves your device.
  • Device and usage data. Anonymous identifiers, app version, operating system version, language, country, crash reports, and aggregated usage events (such as which screens are opened).
  • Push notification tokens. If you enable notifications, we store the device token provided by Apple Push Notification service or Firebase Cloud Messaging so we can deliver alerts.
  • Purchase records. When you make an in-app purchase on iOS or Android, we store the validated receipt or purchase-token identifier and the entitlement state (e.g., "Pro Lifetime active") associated with your account. We do not receive or store your credit card or payment details — those are handled exclusively by Apple or Google.

2. How We Use Information

  • To provide weather forecasts, compass, wind profile, safe-zone maps, and other in-app features.
  • To authenticate you and synchronize your settings and entitlements across devices.
  • To operate the community forum, including moderation of abusive or unlawful content.
  • To validate in-app purchases and restore entitlements.
  • To send push notifications you have opted in to receive.
  • To diagnose crashes, fix bugs, and improve the Service through aggregated analytics.
  • To prevent fraud and abuse via app integrity checks (Firebase App Check, Play Integrity, DeviceCheck/App Attest).
  • To comply with legal obligations.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Brazil, we rely on the following legal bases:

  • Contract performance — to provide the features you request, including in-app purchases.
  • Legitimate interests — to keep the Service secure, prevent abuse, and improve features.
  • Consent — for optional features such as precise location and push notifications. You can withdraw consent at any time in your device settings.
  • Legal obligation — when we must retain records to comply with tax, consumer, or law-enforcement requirements.

4. Third-Party Services

The app relies on the following third-party providers. Each operates under its own privacy policy and we recommend reviewing them:

We do not sell your personal information and we do not use third-party advertising networks inside the app.

5. Data Storage and Security

Account data, forum content, and entitlement records are stored on Google Cloud / Firebase infrastructure, primarily in data centers located in the United States. We use TLS for all network communication and rely on Firebase security rules and Firebase App Check to restrict access to authenticated, legitimate clients. Entitlements are written only by our servers after validating the purchase with the store.

While we take reasonable measures to protect your information, no method of transmission or storage over the Internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

  • Account profile and entitlements are retained for as long as your account is active.
  • Forum posts and comments remain published until you delete them or your account; after account deletion they are anonymised.
  • A hashed record of the email address of a deleted account is kept for 6 months solely to prevent re-registration, as described in the Terms of Use.
  • Crash logs and anonymous analytics are retained for up to 14 months and then aggregated or deleted.
  • Purchase receipts are retained for the period required by the Apple and Google developer agreements and applicable tax law.

7. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access a copy of the data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Delete your account and associated data ("right to be forgotten").
  • Object to or restrict certain types of processing.
  • Receive your data in a portable format.
  • Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of past processing.
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@droneweatherforecast.app. We will respond within 30 days. You can also delete your account directly from the app's settings screen; see Delete your account.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the EEA, or under the equivalent local minimum age). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. International Data Transfers

Because we use cloud services operated by Google and Apple, your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than the one in which you live, including the United States. Where required, transfers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards provided by the relevant sub-processor.

10. In-App Purchases

On iOS, the app offers a one-time non-consumable purchase (pro_lifetime_ios) that unlocks premium features, as well as optional consumable "tip jar" purchases that support development. All payments are processed by Apple. We receive a validated receipt from Apple that contains the product identifier, a transaction identifier, and the purchase date — we do not receive your payment method, card number, or billing address.

On Android, the app offers the equivalent one-time non-consumable purchase (pro_lifetime_android) and optional donations, both processed by Google Play. We receive a purchase token from Google Play that our servers validate with the Google Play Developer API before enabling the entitlement — we do not receive your payment details.

11. Push Notifications

If you allow notifications, we may send you weather alerts, forum reply notifications, or important service announcements. You can disable notifications at any time in your operating system settings.

12. Cookies and Web Tracking

The website droneweatherforecast.app uses Google Analytics 4 to measure how its pages are used: page views, clicks on the store buttons, which questions are opened, traffic sources and campaigns. We rely on our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is found and used (see section 3).

Outside the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (_ga and _ga_*) so that visits from the same browser can be counted together. They hold a random identifier, never your name or email address, and the data is retained for up to 14 months.

In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, analytics runs without cookies: nothing is stored on your device and visits are never linked to one another.

Everywhere, advertising storage, advertising signals and ad personalisation are disabled, and no session recording or screen-capture tool is used. Traffic-source data comes from the address you arrived from (a search engine, an AI assistant, a social network or a partner's short link, for example).

You can refuse or delete these cookies at any time in your browser settings, block Google Analytics with a content blocker, or install Google's opt-out browser add-on; the site works exactly the same. Server logs used to operate the site contain the requested URL, timestamp and a truncated network address and are retained only for security and debugging.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for material changes, notify you inside the app. Continued use of the Service after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
