How to get authorization to fly in a restricted zone

- Check the Visor Geográfico UAS for drone no-fly zones and restricted areas before every flight. Official page
- In the open (recreational) category, stay more than 9 km from an airport (up to 61 m between 6 and 9 km) and 3 km from heliports; these flights cannot get authorisations. Official page
- For other flights, a certified UAS operator requests a flight authorisation on Plataforma UAS Colombia with the area KML, insurance and a risk analysis. Official page
- Near aerodromes or in controlled airspace, Aerocivil arranges coordination with the air traffic unit; if a NOTAM is needed, allow at least 5 business days. Official page
