How to get authorization to fly in a restricted zone

Steps and links from official sources, checked in September 2026. Rules change: confirm on the official website (Trafikstyrelsen) before you fly.

  1. Check the Dronezoner map and click a zone for its conditions; red zones cover airfields and hospital helipads. Official page
  2. Apply to Trafikstyrelsen with the online form (MitID). Expect about 30 days, and a fee. Official page
  3. For military areas and vessels, permission must come from the Danish Defence, not Trafikstyrelsen. Official page
  4. Check the latest NOTAMs on Naviair before flying. Official page
  5. Flying a DJI drone? With the authorization in hand, request an unlock on DJI FlySafe. DJI's unlock does not replace the authority's permission.
