How to get authorization to fly in a restricted zone

Steps and links from official sources, checked in September 2026. Rules change: confirm on the official website (HCAA) before you fly.

  1. Check DAGR before every flight: yellow and magenta zones (airports, archaeological sites and others) may need approval or be prohibited. Official page
  2. Send the flight request to the HCAA (uas@hcaa.gov.gr) at least 5 working days before the flight. Official page
  3. Wait for the HCAA reply with instructions; flights near airports are coordinated with the air navigation service and the Hellenic Air Force. Official page
  4. Flying a DJI drone? With the authorization in hand, request an unlock on DJI FlySafe. DJI's unlock does not replace the authority's permission.
