Drone rules in Sweden at a glance

How to get authorization to fly in a restricted zone

- Check LFV's Drönarkartan for control zones, restricted areas and who grants permission. Official page
- In a control zone you may fly without permission only at least 5 km from the runway and below 50 m (10 m at military airports); otherwise ask air traffic control. Official page
- For airports where LFV provides air traffic control, e-mail LFV (obemannadeluftfartyg@lfv.se) for instructions from the local tower. Official page
- Restricted areas (ESR…) need a permit; where Transportstyrelsen decides, apply online (up to 5 weeks, fee). Leisure flights are generally refused. Official page
